Legacy Christian Academy Deepens Commitment to Shepherd Leadership with Campus-Wide Training
Since August 2021, Presence Point® has partnered with Legacy Christian Academy (LCA) in Bakersfield, California to cultivate a culture of shepherding among students and leaders. What began with a two-day workshop for student and adult leaders sparked a lasting movement. Additional workshops were held in 2022, and shepherding principles quickly became embedded in campus life — Leadership from the Shepherd’s Perspective is now a graduation requirement for high school seniors.
Building on this foundation, LCA expanded the initiative in August 2025 to include the entire teaching and administrative staff. Over two days, 34 teachers and five administrative team members participated in the Leadership from the Shepherd’s Perspective training, equipping them to more intentionally shepherd both students and their families. The Head of School, Paula Cowan, initiated this training to assure that shepherding well truly became part of the DNA of the school community. The workshop was a time of growth and vision, reinforcing LCA’s commitment to shaping leaders who Shepherd Well®.
