We have the opportunity to preach at two churches in Bungoma, Kenya. We will be there as part of our Presence Point workshop the previous day (Saturday, Nov. 14) with approximately 50-60 area pastors and church staff.
A dear, long-time friend, Onesmus Weru, has a ministry to Kenyan pastors called “3 Strands, Int’l., Inc.” When Onesmus and his wife, Joyce, were visiting us in Bakersfield last spring Holly and I had an opportunity to explain our new ministry. As soon as he heard the model of provision, protection, and presence, Onesmus asked if we could come back to Kenya (this will be our 6th time in Kenya) to train these Pastors to be better shepherds. He went on to say that one of the biggest problems he experiences with these church leaders is shepherding their “church family” at the expense of presence with their own families.
We will be staying in Bungoma through Sunday, relying on Leadership from the Shepherd’s Perspective as the central theme of our time with these leaders
