I have heard all about you,Lord. I am filled with awe by your amazing works. In this time of our deep need, help us again as you did in years gone by. And in your anger, remember your mercy. Habakkuk 3:2
As we head into the eighth month of global pandemic,
social distancing, virtual learning, public unrest,
forced telecommuting, limited travel, and record-breaking
wildfires, we stand with Habakkuk, who nearly 2,700
years ago made his plea to God Almighty as
he carried the burden of Jerusalem falling to the
Babylonians and witnessed the destruction of the
Temple. Then, after God answered not once, but
twice, Habakkuk concluded with the following…
Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines;even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! The Sovereign Lord is my strength! Habakkuk 3:17-19a
May the Sovereign Lord be your strength during the final months of 2020, and may you find peace and joy in Him alone!
What Happened in September
Look around at the nations; look and be amazed! For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn’t believe even if someone told you about it. Habakkuk 1:5
But the righteous shall live by faith. Habakkuk 2:4b
